Remote Control Your Timer

Premium Feature
Remote control is a Premium feature that allows you to control your timer from anywhere, perfect for managing your stream timer without switching windows or while away from your computer.

What is Remote Control?

Remote control gives you the ability to manage your timer through a separate control interface. For Countdown timers, you can start, pause, and reset. For CountTo timers, you can update the target date/time. This is particularly useful during live streams when you need to manage your timer without interrupting your workflow or switching between applications.

Manual restart onlyStart/pause/reset from anywhere

No live control during streamsFull control while streaming
Requires page reloadInstant updates
Information
Remote control works by keeping a connection between your editor and the timer display. Changes you make in the editor are instantly reflected in all embedded displays, including OBS browser sources!

Accessing Remote Control

The remote control interface is available directly from the editor. When you open your timer in the editor, you'll find remote control options that allow you to manage the timer's state and settings.

How to Access:

  1. Log in to your Premium account
  2. Open any saved timer in the editor
  3. Use the control panel to manage your timer
  4. Changes apply instantly to all displays
Tip
Keep your editor open on a secondary monitor or device while streaming for easy access to remote controls without interrupting your main workflow!

Control Options

The remote control interface provides comprehensive timer management. Note: Control options differ between timer types!

CountTo Timer Controls (Date-based)

Information
CountTo timers are stateless and run continuously until the target date is reached. They cannot be paused or started - they always count down to the target date/time. Only the target date/time itself can be changed.
Tip
All remote control changes are instant. Your timer display updates immediately without requiring a refresh or reload!

Remote Control During Streaming

When using your timer in OBS Studio or other streaming software, the remote control becomes especially valuable. You can keep the editor open on a secondary monitor or device and control the timer without affecting what's displayed on stream.

Streaming Setup:

  1. Primary Monitor: Your streaming software (OBS, Streamlabs, XSplit)
  2. Secondary Monitor/Device: Editor with remote controls open
  3. Stream Display: Browser source showing your timer renderer
  4. Control Flow: Make changes in editor → Instantly visible on stream

Pre-Stream Testing:

Test your remote control setup before going live:

  1. Start your timer using remote controls (Countdown) or verify target date (CountTo)
  2. Verify the display updates in OBS preview
  3. For Countdown timers: Practice pause, resume, and reset operations
  4. For CountTo timers: Test updating the target date/time
  5. Test duration/target adjustments
  6. Confirm all changes appear correctly
